Preserve Voices Workshop -May 20, 9am at Cultural Council for Palm Beach County.
Join award-winning journalist Wilkine Brutus at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County for an immersive afternoon dedicated to the art of oral history. Your family’s legacy is a living archive, yet so much is lost because we don't always know how to ask the right questions.
Preserve Voices is a guided experience designed to bridge the generational gap, teaching you how to interview your parents and elders with the precision of a journalist and the heart of a storyteller.
Through an interactive experience, participants learn Brutus’ five core interviewing pillars — Building Psychological Safety, Active Listening, Open-Ended Inquiry, Sensory Detail, and Creative Feedback – turning everyday conversations into powerful, high-quality archives.
